Gu Uijin is a photographer who explores architecture and space.

 계원예술대학교 건축디자인과를 졸업하고 홍익대학교 공간디자인 석사를 수료했으며,

2021년에는 독립예술공간 '아트 포 랩'을 설립하여 예술가들이 자유로운 실험과 교류를 통해

지속 가능한 창작활동을 이어갈 수 있는 환경을 만들어왔습니다.

 2024년에는 개인전 《Memory Signal》을 통해 재개발 아파트의 시간적 층위를 시각화했으며, 현재는 후지필름의 ‘한국 유네스코 유산 기록 프로젝트’에 참여해 전통과 현대가 교차하는 건축과 공간의 가치를 조명하고 있습니다. 앞으로는 이러한 경험을 확장해 한국의 건축과 문화를 세계와 공유하며, 동시에 건축사진 교육에도 힘써 다음 세대가 공간을 새롭게 해석하고 표현할 수 있는 길을 열고자 합니다.

 Graduated from the Department of Architectural Design at Kaywon University of Art & Design and completed master’s coursework in Spatial Design at Hongik University. Founded the independent art space Art for Lab in 2021, creating an environment for artists to sustain their practices through free experimentation and exchange.

 In 2024, presented the solo exhibition Memory Signal, visualizing the temporal layers of redeveloped apartment complexes. Currently participating in Fujifilm’s Korean UNESCO Heritage Recording Project, highlighting the values of architecture and space where tradition and modernity intersect. Future goals include sharing Korean architecture and culture with the world and contributing to architectural photography education so that the next generation can reinterpret and express space in new ways.
